Thriller Warning
Stopped at Niagara Falls a couple of weeks ago on our way up to see friends in Toronto and saw this sign.. Is it me or is this sign also warning of possible zombies doing the Thriller??

The electric motorcycle Wes designed for Brooklyn Motorized is being featured in the NY Times today! I’m so proud.
Read about it HERE.
Sorry the postings have been sort of slow the past few months, I’ve been doing a million different projects and my new painting series had to be put on hold until the end of the month. While I was working on my new site, I went through an old folder of images and came across this one.. I can’t believe I never got around to posting it!
I did The Travelers (aka: The Hair Curtains) a couple of years ago for a show in Miami, as the sister piece to One Plus Two Plus One.

A little while ago, an old grade school friend of mine connected me with a friend of hers who was interested in me creating a fun, whimsical logo for her photography business. She mentioned that she wanted something that showcased her love of the outdoors (she lives in Colorado), but also knew that she didn’t want the standard straight-forward sort of thing. Everything else she left open for me to play with, which was so refreshing.
As it turns out, she loved the very first sketch I did, so I moved straight on to the simple color sample. With only a few minor changes, I went on to finish the final, keeping the initial hand-written text. Such a fun job!

I finally launched a new home for THERSIC Style Icons! I would best sum it up as a pop cultured-based, fashion site that you don’t need to know anything about fashion to enjoy. Enjoy!

I just returned home from an 18 hour work-trip to sunny Miami (trust me, I wish it had been longer!), and literally missed the 2nd largest snow storm this month– AGAIN!
The weird thing was, a few hours before I left, about 20 seagulls circled our roof for over an hour. They were making all sorts of creepy noises, and when I went up there, they screeched even louder. Flashes of The Birds came over me, and decided it would be best to go back downstairs..

So my ol’ website of 6 years (that’s like 120 in Internet years, right?) is finally getting a complete makeover! I’m expecting it to take me a little while, as I’m trying to edit out a lot of things, as well adding all sorts of new goodies, but I’m excited all the same.
While searching though my virtual junk drawer of old files, I came across a few pieces I painted, scanned and completely forgot about. All of them were done for various gallery shows and have since sold, but I don’t think I ever got around to posting them on my site. Some of them are pretty old (when I used to work with acrylic!), but I still thought a few of you may be interested in seeing them.

The folks at Kid Robot contacted me a few months ago to come up with a couple of designs for their 2011 Dunny Collection. These did not make the cut.
Someone recently asked me why I’ve started drawing in this simplified style, and the truth is, I’m not sure!
I started doing these tiny portraits of friends and family as gifts I was giving, and now all I want to do is make everyone I know into a ridiculously cute stick figure! Anyway, we’ll see were it goes. This one was a little holiday gift for my dear friends Michelle & Drew.
I’m so excited to be part the upcoming show, Is This Thing On?, presented by Gallery 1988 Melrose and Funny or Die. Each artist participating was given a stand up comic to base a piece on, mine being the lovable, Steve Martin.
I recently finished reading his book, Born Standing Up (which I highly recommend), which is an autobiography of his very earliest years doing stand up in the 1970′s. I decided to take the super minimalist approach to this piece, painting 2 small iconic objects on wood panels, and sealing them with resin. The show opens in LA on January 7th. rumor is that lots of the comics represented will be in attendance. Woot!
Up in my Etsy shop! A couple more coming up this week.
Last day for holiday ordering: This Friday, December 17th!
