I recently finished up a logo for the film production company, Lantern Fish Media. I wanted to try to get away from the typical image of a lantern fish, and instead play with the idea of incorporating an actual lantern with a stylized fish.
Below is the finished logo, followed by some initial sketches and crest options.
That’s right, after literally years of me saying I needed to update my site, it’s FINALLY done! For the first time (I think ever) my work is somewhat organized into categories instead of being all over the place. With the help of my brother and sister-in-law, I was finally able to learn how to update it myself, which will come in handy for new work and news on upcoming shows, projects, etc.
If it weren’t 10am, I call for a little whiskey to celebrate. Yay!
Gallery 1988 has teamed up with Cartoon Network’s, Adult Swim and a bunch of awesome artists to kick off 2012 with one amazing show (see/buy work HERE)! I am psyched.
It was hard to choose, but I finally decided on The Venture Bros., depicting what I thought Brock Samson and Dr. Girlfriend might do in their time off.. Enjoy!

After a couple years in a row of making some of my favorite costumes, this year for Halloween my friend & I went as the aliens from John Carpenter’s They Live. We constructed the faces from masks we bought at a craft store, and my husband dressed up as the hero, played by Rowdy Roddy Piper.
“I’ve come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass…and I’m all out of bubblegum.”

I am so psyched to be included in the Bill Murray tribute show, Please Post Bills, opening at Gallery 1988 on November 3rd. No surprise, I’m a huge fan of almost everything this man has done in his long & successful career, but I just couldn’t resist going for the obvious favorite, Ghostbusters. Like most kids of the 80′s, I’ve seen this movie probably 100 times, and can recite it on cue.
My piece is actually 2 individual paintings, a before and after of Dr. Peter Venkman getting slimed for the first time.

A few weeks ago a dear friend was married at a lovely wedding in Toronto. Since she has amazing taste, a sharp eye, and a house full of pretty things, I didn’t dare try to shop for her! Instead, I decided to do a tiny little painting of a sketch I once did that I thought represented love and starting a life together.
The only problem with this one was the double layer of resin I pored, which seemed to get splotchy in some areas.. I’m hoping that it evens out over time!

I recently took a much needed break from NYC and headed to Chicago to visit my family, and then went on to LA with my sister for the Crazy 4 Cult opening and book signing at Gallery 1988. It was so much fun! Here’s a few of my favorite pics..

It’s been top secret up until now, but the opening night of SUPER iam8bit has finally been released & it’s coming up really soon! If you live in LA, clear your calenders for Thursday, August 11th from 7-11pm, because this show is gonna be HUGE. Over 100 artists basing pieces on old-school video games, 4,500 sq/ft, food trucks, and music performances should make for an amazing time.

Once again, I am so excited to be participating in another great Gallery 1988 show! Opening Friday, July 29th, at their Venice location, I Know You Art, But What am I? is a tribute to the amazing Pee-Wee Herman, and should be beyond good.
I based my piece on the first of many scenes from Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure that truly creeped me out. Pee-Wee chains his bike up to an animatronic clown and goes shopping, but when he returns it’s been stolen, and the clown is looking twice as scary..
