A Peek at My Halloween Past

I’ve been posting each year’s Halloween costume on here for a while now, but I don’t think I’ve ever had them all together. So today I’m celebrating some of my favorites from childhood and on. I’ve mentioned this in the past, but my family is seriously crazy about Halloween. We used to go camping each fall to a campground that held a costume contest, and we would try every year to come up with something weirdly original. Then I went away to art school, and the trend continued.  Now that I have my own kid, I’m hoping to pass along the family tradition.. Poor guy doesn’t know what he’s in for!

A Very Seinfeld Halloween

As many of you know, my family is absolutely crazy about dressing up for Halloween (just see years past HERE).  After taking last Halloween off due to my crazy schedule and my 1st nephew being born, we’re back!  I actually thought of this idea while still pregnant (like I said, crazy Halloween family) and am so glad we were able to pull it off!

Obviously Seinfeld remains my all-time favorite show (I painted 99 Seinfeld References after all) and it was fun to finally be able to recreate some of my favorite characters in one of the best scenes!  Luckily my son has remained mostly bald and has a surprising high tolerance to being dressed up like an old man.  The rest was simply finding a purple turtleneck onesie, a good wig for Elaine, and making my husband shave his beloved beard. Whammo! :)

BABY UNCLE LEO!

‘Elaine, what about my eyebrows?’ ‘Shhh! here..’

‘Calm down..’  ‘I am calm!’
